Adventure Motorcycle Rental for a Greek Road Trip: How to Choose and What to Pack

Northern Greece was made for motorcycles: coastal roads in Halkidiki, mountain twisties in Macedonia, dirt tracks to hidden beaches. The right bike is what separates a relaxed ride from a tiring day.
What "adventure" means
Adventure motorcycles have an upright riding position, long suspension and a comfortable seat. They cope with rough roads and long distances. Many come with panniers, so you can set off on a trip without hunting for luggage.
How much engine do you need
- About 250 cc: light and easy. Good for beginners and shorter routes, with low fuel use.
- 450 cc: a balance between ease and power. Suits a two- or three-day trip.
- 700 cc and up: for long distances, motorways and a passenger. Heavier, but steadier at speed.
If it is your first time on a big bike, start smaller. You ride more calmly and get less tired.
Licence and age
Every model has a minimum age and a required licence, shown on its page. Check them before you book. At pick-up you will need your licence and an ID card or passport.
Gear: do not leave it for last
- A helmet that fits well and fastens properly.
- Gloves and a jacket with protection, even in summer.
- Closed shoes or boots, never flip-flops.
- A rain jacket, because the weather changes fast in the mountains.
- A phone holder and a charger for navigation.
Planning the day
Do not plan too many kilometres. With stops, photos and food, 200 to 250 kilometres a day is comfortable. Start early and fill up before you enter a mountain road.
